The Ghetto goes beyond the description places associated with lack and hunger but an anthology that tells stories of struggle, toiling and hope amongst other common themes. In a six-track project titled Ghetto Yut, Bling Four who is not foreign to the exploration of the ghetto story shares his observations and take of what is taking place in the ghetto. The project released on the 21st April 2024 features Enzo Ishall, Gemma Griffiths and stable new signee Runna Rules.
Clout has emerged as one of the worst setbacks in the lives of people in the internet era and in Ama 2k, Bling 4 criticises the idea of pleasing strangers on social media at the expense of one’s progress in life. He exposes the hypocrisy that has clouded the social media and the mayhem that happens online caused by people who have become addicted to likes and followers and are willing to do so much to attain the numbers. Bling Four continues his criticism of society in the track 28 magees by discouraging the abuse of drugs by mentioning crystal meth as a bad source of escapism.
The track also brings out the theme of love and his personal take on what to do when things get sour. Bling Four shares the idea of letting go of toxic relationships which he also brings up in the track Hazvidi Kudhipisa by giving reference to Levels and Shashl, a popular couple that followed that path when things failed to work between them.
Vana Venyu which features Gemma Griffiths is a prayer for help that exposes the struggles of the Ghetto like hunger that has led its inhabitants to abuse drugs and engaging in prostitution as ways of provision and escapism.
They say that every cloud has a silver lining and it is also true for the Ghetto Yut Ep which incorporates a positive vibe with a quick tempo track titled Mukati. The track which features popular dancehall artist Enzo Ishall is a party song that encourages relief from stress with catchy lyrics that are easy to dance to.
The Ghetto Yut EP which was predominantly produced by Bleqboy and Nagbeats stands head above shoulders as one of the most talked about Hip hop projects of 2024 because of the issues it addresses and the truths it exposes on top of the sound that does not betray the origins of the genre.
