Cymplex’s Magic Wave Riddim Review

The growing popularity of remixes in the current music atmosphere has seen the under appreciation of the riddim albums culture. However, despite this producer Cymplex has always found a way to capture the attention of the masses whenever he releases a riddim album. His reputation of striking gold with TDS Vibes, Wanna be, More Entertainment riddims and recently with his latest release titled the Magic Wave bear testimony to this fact. These riddims have credited the Gweru born producer with hits like She Calaz’s Changamire(TDS Vibes) , Freeman’s Pombi (More Entertainment), Killer T’s Handizvide (Mhemberero), Enzo’s Chimbondisiya (Wanna Be) and many others.

The riddim features Andy Muridzo, Uncle Epatan, Blot, Celscius, Dancehall Keddah, Guspy Warrior, Hwinza, Jah Master, Jah Signal, Ndunge Yut, Poptain, Silent Killer, Shugeta, Elliot and Tanakay. The fast-paced instrumental explores diverse themes that create different atmospheres with songs like Poptain’s Muchiuno, Hwinza’s Zunza Mugwavha and Jah Master’s Hip Hop kana Dancehall being suitable party songs. Guspy Warrior Munomuvengeriko, Andy Muridzo’s Makabaka and Shugeta featuring Elliot’s Zvandino Feeler explore the theme of love.

Riddim albums being competitive in nature with debates about who did better than who, Magic Wave riddim has been able to deliver on this very well.
